Used in competitive swimming events and installed in aquatic facilities around the world, Kiefer starting blocks are a leader in their industry. They are made from 100% domestic steel that required some type of comfortable, slip-resistant hand grips to aid swimmers in their starts. A search for the right hand grip material led to GripWorks.
Slip-Resistant, VynaFoam Grip
Realizing that a soft foam grip would break down rapidly under the constant gripping and exposure to water, the GripWorks design team specified double dipped grips featuring an outer surface with our proprietary VynaFoam material for this application.
The first layer of the grip provides durable base and holds the grips in place tightly while the second VynaFoam layer combines the look and cushion of traditional foam grips. The VynaFoam material also has a superior non-slip finish, which is very important to the swimmers.
Imprinted Name and Logo for Branding
To help brand their starting blocks, our decorating team suggested printing the company’s name and logo on the grips to aid in promoting the brand.
As shown in the image above, this Kiefer starting block is very well promoted with four branded hand grips. One might even suggest that this is a branding success right from the starting block!
